Looking back on the summer when she was 11 years old, Bo Groden sifts through the memories of her unusual childhood in the desert of New Mexico. It is the summer where her father spirals into depression and she longs for modern amenities and normalcy, while her mother and family friend, George, try to hold the family together. Bo longs for a miracle to change her life and the miracle happens with the appearance of a displaced IRS agent who arrives in a fever and never leaves. An off-beat evocative comedy with a compelling and lyrical quality.
